Bro Myrddin heading to Stamford Bridge
The Community today hosted the Girls Final of their Schools Tournament to find a team to represent them at the Premier League Schools Tournament.
Following the success of yesterday’s Mixed Final – won by Tenby Church in Wales Primary School – our Premier League Schools project hosted another competition today to find a girls team to head to the national tournament in May.
Nine schools from across South West Wales made it through to the Final but only one could claim the top spot and earn themselves a trip to Stamford Bridge to compete against other schools from other football clubs.
After a morning of matches, it was Bro Myrddin who emerged triumphant and the Community Trust’s Education Manager, Thomas Williams, was full of praise for them, as well as all the girls who took part.
“It’s great to see so many girls enjoying football and playing to a very high level,” he said.
“We were all impressed with, not only the standard of football on display, but also the levels of sportsmanship. All teams have a fantastic account of themselves and their respective schools can be proud of their efforts.
"Ysgol Bro Myrddin were worthy winners and they will no doubt go on to represent the Swans with great distinction at Stamford Bridge,” he finished.
The Final will take place in May so keep an eye on our Twitter account for updates from the Tournament @scfccommunitytr
