Inclusive Tennis Sessions launch at Virgin Active Glamorgan
We are pleased to announce we have launched new inclusive tennis sessions in Swansea for those with disabilities.
Taking place every Saturday, the sessions cost just £4 per day (payment on arrival) and are held between 3-5pm at Virgin Active Glamorgan.
The sessions come after the announcement of our new Inclusion project and see the Community Trust partner with Virgin Active Glamorgan and Tennis Wales to develop a series of tennis sessions aimed at children with a disability.
Open for people aged 9-16 years old, the inclusive tennis sessions are suitable for those with a range of disabilities including wheelchair users and no experience or equipment is needed.
Organised by our new Inclusion project, the sessions will be delivered by our Premier League 4 Sport coaches who already run tennis, as well as hockey, basketball and table tennis coaching sessions throughout our local communities on a weekly basis.
“This is the first of hopefully many initiatives as part of the new Premier League/BT Inclusion programme and we are delighted to be working with Tennis Wales and Virgin Active in developing this tennis programme.” said Richard Jones, the Community Trust’s Inclusion Senior Manager. “Virgin Active provides a fantastic and welcoming environment and the coaches working on the programme are extremely passionate about providing opportunities for those with a disability. Tennis provides a great opportunity for anyone to get active and meet new people and we are hoping that this programme does just that.”
