Local pupils benefit from PL Enterprise course

A group of GCSE pupils from Llangatwg School were welcomed to the Liberty Stadium for a one-day course with our Premier League Enterprise project.

The students – who are working towards gaining a BTEC in Leisure and Tourism – arrived in SA1 for a session exploring the various job roles that are available within a football club to help them complete an assignment for their course.

In addition to learning about the different departments within the Club from our Enterprise coaches, the Club’s Customer Service & Equality Manager, Lucy Norman, spoke to the group about working in customer services and the hospitality departments.

Following the session, one student said; “Meeting Lucy was really great. She was lovely, positive and enthusiastic. I learnt that working hard and treating people well is really important in your career.”

Another pupil added; “There are a lot more job roles at Swansea City than I thought there were. It was much more interesting to come to the Stadium and see what people did for real rather than researching it online.”

It wasn’t solely the students however that found the day a valuable experience as their teacher said; “It was an informative, hands on experience, one that will greatly help my pupils complete their controlled assessment with confidence!”
