SwansAid winners announced
The first round of SwansAid winners for the 2016/17 season have now been decided on with the Community Trust donating £8,000 in grants.
Applying for funding through the Club’s grant-giving pot – SwansAid – the following sporting clubs and organisations will now be presented with the funds in the coming weeks.
•Mumbles Lifeguard Club - £2,000 for equipment to support the lifeguard qualifications needed to enable young peoples’ participation in lifesaving sport.
•Tumble Family Centre - £2,000 for the purchase and installation of artificial grass.
•Port Talbot Town Cricket Club - £2,000 for a Bowdry Water Hog and a Role On Roll Off cricket coaching net.
•Carmarthen Domestic Abuse Services - £2,000 to fund their Get Up and Go project.
Following the announcement, the Community Trust’s Assistant Head of Community, Helen Elton, said; “The Trust is delighted to announce that another group of organisations have been awarded SwansAid funding.
“These grants will be put towards a variety of uses including purchasing new equipment and funding new projects.”
Now in its fourth year, SwansAid has distributed over £100,000 to a variety of charities and community organisations across South West Wales to help them develop opportunities for, and support, young people, children and those with disabilities in sport.
