U12/U13s in festival action this half term

Two squads from Swansea City’s youth development phase will take on a number of Category One sides at a festival at Lillieshall National Sports Centre this October half term.

Our Under-12s will face Fulham, Manchester United and Aston Villa in their schedule, while the Under-13s will also face Fulham, Manchester United and Fulham in their round robin the same weekend.

The aim of the festival is to allow clubs and players to showcase their talents against unfamiliar opponents.

Academy coach, Kane Amos said: “It is a fantastic opportunity for our young players to play the likes of Manchester United, Fulham, Newcastle and Aston Vila.

“Through networking and with the support of the academy and the Premier League, we have been able to secure a world class facility in Lilleshall sports centre to fulfil the festival.

“The competition will promote the realism of winning and losing with points on offer and qualification at stake following the round robin fixtures.

“My long term vision is for this competition to grow year by year with additional teams being invited in order to compete on a yearly basis.”
