Asda donate to Community Trust

The Swans Community Trust were recently awarded a donation of £200 from Asda Llansamlet.

Presented to the Trust at the Liberty Stadium by Asda’s Community Champion, Nicola Edwards, the funds were awarded through the supermarket’s ‘Chosen by you… given by us’ campaign.

Supported by the Asda Foundation and run by Asda’s Community Life programme, the scheme provides funding for local charities and good causes nominated by Asda customers and colleagues.

With customers voting for their chosen charity with a green token given to them after every shop, the winning organisation receives £200 and the two runners up are granted £50.

A total of £277,166 has been awarded to local causes this year through the scheme, with Asda’s Llansamlet branch donating £200 to Swansea City AFC’s official charity.

“On behalf of the Swans Community Trust, we’d like to thank Asda for their generous donation, which will help the charity to continue supporting local communities through our health, education, training and sports participation initiatives,” said the Community Trust’s Fundraising Officer, Charlotte Rogers. “We’d also like to thank the shoppers of Asda Llansamlet for using their green tokens to vote for us – thank you!” she continued.
