Trunds shows support for Stop Here service

The Community Trust and Lee Trundle were on hand to lend their support to the ‘Start Here’ stop smoking service earlier this month.

Offering smokers support to quit using a combination of one to one support and nicotine replacement products for up to 12 weeks, the service is now available across over 70 pharmacies in Swansea, Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot.

After teaming up with the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board (ABMU), the Community Trust was in attendance at the Well Pharmacy in Penlan, along with Lee Trundle, to help promote the service.

“Here in the Well Pharmacy in Penlan, we are delighted to be part of any community based service that gives people that one to one support that can help them be muich more likely to quit smoking once and for all,” said Rachel Shumack from the Pharmacy.

“This free, accessible and flexible service is essentially making it easier for smokers who are looking to quit,” added Nathan Wood, a Pharmacist at Queens Road Pharmacy, Skewen, which now delivers the service.

The Community Trust and the ABMU Public Health team are now currently on the lookout for a couple of smokers who would like to quit, using the pharmacy service. We would follow your journey from smoker to non-smoker and would enter you into a draw offering you the chance to win two tickets to watch the Swans play at home. If you want to register your interest for this great opportunity, please contact Julie Davies from the ABMU Public Health Team on 01792607280.
