Pentrehafod pupils compete in PL Enterprise Final
Pentrehafod School will go head to head against teams representing Everton, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Norwich City and West Ham United for the title of Champions at this year’s Premier League Enterprise Challenge as they compete in a Dragon’s Den style event at Altitude 360, London, on Wednesday 9 March 2016.
Twenty-nine Premier League and Football League clubs have taken part in this year’s national competition, which tasked pupils with developing ideas to encourage fans to spend more time at stadiums on a matchday.
Over 1,000 young people from school years 9 and 10 have taken part in this year’s competition, which sees professional football clubs discuss their own business models and deliver enterprise-based educational workshops, aimed at inspiring participants and widening their skills set.
The pupils from the six schools now have the chance to present to a judging panel consisting of Football Analyst and former Premier League and England Defender Graeme Le Saux, Comic and Sport Relief Ambassador Theo Paphitis, BBC Breakfast and CBBC Pocket Money Pitch presenter Steph McGovern and Premier League Executive Office Director Peta Bistany.
Premier League Executive Chairman, Richard Scudamore, who set this year’s task said: “I am sure this year’s challenge, our eighth, will produce even better ideas generated by even more enthusiastic and engaged young people. Our successful partnership with Sport Relief, Premier League and Football League clubs, to deliver education with football as the backdrop, continues to bring new and exciting entrepreneurs to the fore.”
