Soccer Camp success

A budding young footballer, who attended many Swansea City Community Trust Soccer Camps, has been accepted into the U9s squad at the Development Centre.

After impressing his coaches with his talent and sheer dedication, James Thomas has graduated from attending the Soccer Camps in his school holidays to working with one of the Club’s youth development squads to further his skills.

The Pembrokeshire lad, aged eight, began attending these camps purely for enjoyment and arrived with a raw ability, but after receiving over 100 hours of coaching, he has come on leaps and bounds, improving both his footwork and his athleticism.

Since starting the camps two years ago, James, who attends Redhill School in Pembrokeshire, has become a standout player and one that has thoroughly impressed his coaches.

“He has developed massively and has found himself in this exciting position,” said Ceri Phillips, the Pembrokeshire Football Development Coach at Swansea City AFC.
“Well done to the young lad and the coaches who have worked with him over the last year and a half,” Ceri continued.

The youngster’s success story is testament to the Soccer Camps organised by the Trust and just goes to show what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.
