SwansAid applications reopen for 2015

SwansAid applications are back open from today (Saturday, February 7th) giving more local charities and organisations the chance to benefit from the grant scheme.

Since its introduction in September 2013, SwansAid – run by Swans Community Trust – has helped us support a variety of charities, groups and community organisations across South West Wales.

Swansea Gymnastics Centre has this month been presented with the award of £10,000 from our last round of applications in autumn 2014.

Steve Philpot, General Manager, Swansea Gymnastics Centre said: “It is fantastic news! This grant means everything to us.

“We are going through a period of restructure at the moment, by getting this money it allows us to buy new equipment that we can spread to different areas of Swansea so more communities can get involved with sport.

“Our aim is to bring gymnastics to as many people in Swansea as possible, this SwansAid grant money is going to allow us to do that.

“A lot of the funding will be invested into our parent and toddler groups, we are trying to get as much equipment as we can for these children, we want to put on more classes right across Swansea, to do that we need the right equipment – SwansAid will help deliver that.”

“I think SwansAid scheme is absolutely fantastic, anyone in our local area can apply for a grant. It is very easy, simple and quick to do.

“We are not regretting our application, this money is going to help us do good things for the local community.”
