Cwmtawe school girls get Swans coaching

Swans girls development coach Nia Davies took time this week to take a training session with Cwmtawe girls football team.

The schools under-15 side were invited to Landore training ground on Wednesday to view the facility and gain some experience on the pitch ahead of their game in the last 16 of the Welsh Cup.

Nia Davies, Swans girls Development coach said: “It’s great to have Cwmtawe girls team here at Landore for a training session and have a look around behind the scenes.

“It is a great opportunity for them to get to know what Swans Academy is about and for us to work with girls football in the community.”

Cwmtawe community school began an education link-up with Swans Academy in September 2014.

PE teacher, Miss Ardolino added: “Thanks to our link-up with the Swans, Nia has very kindly invited us down to Landore, given us a tour and helped us out today on the training pitch.

“It’s a great experience and a wonderful opportunity for our girls to raise the standard of their game and work on some tactics with Swansea City coaches and hope we can do it again in the future.”

Training for Swans girls development (under-8 and 10) takes place every Monday evening at Cwmdu Development Centre.
