Swans Continue Unbeaten Month With Dominating Win

A dominant 7-2 victory over QPR saw Swansea City Under-18’s take their third league win in a row at Fairwood training ground on Saturday afternoon.

A goal from an early QPR penalty was cancelled out by strikes from Kyle Copp, Dan James and a first half hat-trick from front man Owain Jones.

QPR battled to get a goal back before the break but it was Swansea that controlled the game in the second half with two more goals from Kyle Copp that included superb free kick on the 75th minute to win the game 7-2.

Coach Cameron Toshack said he was pleased with the result, the form of the team and the clinical finishing in front of goal.

“We’ve been creating a lot of chances recently” he said: “We knew if we maintained our focus and continued to create those chances then goals would come and today they have and we have made them count.

“We have worked the ball well into wide areas and provided good crosses for the front men.

“Our execution at set pieces was good today meaning we scored a few goals from free-kicks and corners.

“Our transition into attack through the front men and wingers – Stevie Fallon, Dan James, Kyle Copp and Owain Jones – was breath taking at times.

“I’m pleased the team are starting to gel together, in recent weeks we have improved our passing patterns, defensive positioning and attacking formations.

“Discipline, organisation and balance has been key for me and the coaches and to be fair to the players have started to make big strides in those areas.”
